Deputies look for suspect in attempted kidnapping

Sierra Sun

KINGS BEACH – Placer County sheriff’s deputies were looking for a man they believe tried to kidnap a young girl at the beach in Kings Beach on Monday afternoon.

Authorities say several girls between 11 and 16 were approached by a Hispanic man who appeared to be 40 years old. After initially asking for money, the man allegedly grabbed one of the girls by the arm, kissed her hand and pulled her toward him.

Then, the man approached another girl leaving the restrooms and allegedly asked her to go back into the bathroom with him, according to sheriff’s office reports. Investigators are unsure why the man tried to lure the girls away with him, said Placer County sheriff’s Sgt. Dan Ingalls.

Deputies described the man as about 5 feet 6 inches tall, heavy set, with a mustache and goatee. The man was missing some of his front teeth, had a lazy eye and spoke in Spanish and broken English, according to sheriff’s office reports.
