Local business owner Linda McCall was recently honored in New York City by Mario Buatta, one of the world’s best known interior designers. McCall owns the Decorating Den Interiors franchise in Lake Tahoe

Buatta joined McCall at a dinner at the Four Seasons Restaurant to celebrate McCall completing her year as Decorator of the Year for Decorating Den Interiors. She was joined by company chairman James S. Bugg, Sr. and his wife Carol Donayre Bugg, vice president of design.

“It was a thrill to meet Mario,” McCall said. “He has inspired interior designers all over the world.” Buatta was selected by Architectural Digest and Metropolitan Home magazines as one of the Design 100 and by Town and Country magazine as one of the Top 12 designers in America. “Linda is very deserving of the award,” said Buatta. “Decorating Den designers do top work, and hers stood out.”

McCall had been chosen Decorator of the Year as part of the company’s International Dream Room competition for her dramatically designed family room that is now a warm and elegantly casual enclave that reflects her client’s penchant for an eclectic mix of Nantucket and Asian styles. The room was selected as the best of nearly 300 entries in 12 categories judged by U.S. and Canadian journalists who write for such publications at Traditional Home, House Beautiful, Design NY, and for national syndication and regional publications.
