Dirty Dozen Calendar Contest seeks children’s drawings of invasive weeds

Kids: Want to display your artistic talent while helping your community and the environment? Here’s how to enter the Tahoe Resource Conservation District’s Dirty Dozen Calendar Contest:

— Draw a creative picture of one of the invasive weeds threatening Lake Tahoe. Examples are on the TRCD Web site at http://www.tahoercd.org.

— All kids are eligible. Include your name, age, a sentence or two about the weed, and a phone number so we can contact you if you win.

— Deliver by mail or in person to the Tahoe Resource Conservation District, 870 Emerald Bay Road, Suite 108, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. Drawings are due by 5 p.m. Dec. 7.

If your drawing is chosen to be in our 2008 calendar, you will receive your own printed copy and a prize donated by local businesses such as Sports Ltd., Tahoe Bowl and Burger Lounge. Winners will be chosen by TRCD.

For more information, contact TRCD at (530) 543-1501, ext. 108.
