District board meeting to discuss rate increases

Gregory Crofton

Board members of a district that provides water to about 2,400 customers on Kingsbury Grade will meet Tuesday to discuss a planned rate increase and a repaving project.

The increase, not scheduled to take effect until sometime after April, is needed to pay a loan that could top out at $4 million.

The loan, along with a $5 million grant provided by the state, will finance a project that replaces water lines this summer and a water tank in 2004.

“They will be looking at the water rates,” said Candi Rohr, general manager at Kingsbury General Improvement District. “But they are not going to be making any determination where they want to take the rates until April.”

After the April board meeting, there will be a public hearing regarding the increase.

The board on Tuesday is also expected to award a bid for a paving project. It will involve reconstructing and resurfacing portions of Tramway Drive and Quaking Aspen Lane.
