District goals outlined for upcoming year

William Ferchland

A review and adoption of several goals for the upcoming school year is one agenda item for today’s Douglas County School District Board of Trustees meeting.

Superintendent Carol Lark, fresh in her new role after John Soderman retired after the 2005-06 school year, prepared the seven goals.

Five center on the competency and graduation strategy of the district’s strategic plan, another focuses on Lark’s transition, while the seventh goal details a number of issues the trustees raised.

A copy of the goals will be available at the meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. at Kingsbury Middle School’s library.
