Dog obedience classes offered

New sessions of Puppy School and Dog Obedience classes will be offered by the South Lake Tahoe Parks & Recreation Department beginning Jan. 7. The cost is $80 for either session and runs Jan. 7 through Jan. 30 on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

Puppy School is from 6 to 7 p.m. at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd., and will focus on owner education, puppy socialization, problem solving and positive behavior techniques. Dog Obedience is from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. at the Recreation Complex, 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd., and participants will work on basic care, training, grooming, problem solving and their dog thinks, learns and relates to people. Both classes are fun for the dog owner and their dog. Everyone needs a buckle collar and 6-foot leash for classes.
