Donations for Angora victims to be collected at Mikasa building
A lease has been finalized to use the former Mikasa building at the “Y” as a clearinghouse for donations intended for victims of the Angora fire, organizers announced Tuesday.
Now, the Community Care Center of Tahoe, at 2011 Lake Tahoe Blvd., is seeking volunteers to help bring in the donations, take inventory and organize them.
Setup will take place today from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Volunteers are asked to bring brooms, garbage bags, buckets, mops, window cleaners, bathroom cleaners, paper towels or other cleaning supplies.
Tables, chairs, extension cords, coat hangers and shelving will also be needed.
