Donovan Leroy Henslick

Donovan Leroy Henslick died unexpectedly Sept. 10, 2005, at the El Dorado County Jail. He was 55.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Turn 3, 2227 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Minister and friend LauraLee Mathis will officiate. Donations are expected to help pay for cremation.

Born Dec. 15, 1949, Mr. Henslick lived most of his life in Northern California. He was employed as an engineer at several businesses in the Lake Tahoe area, most recently at the Spa Doc.

He is survived by a son, Donovan Leroy Henslick Jr. He is also survived by his two faithful companions, Jordy and Walter.

Mr. Henslick also left behind many friends who will deeply miss his warm-hearted smile, his kindness and his compassion. His compassion especially was evidenced by his love and caring of injured and/or orphaned animals. He had the nickname “Dr. Doolittle.”
