Douglas County GOP to meet

The executive meeting of the Douglas County Republican Central Committee, led by chairman Wes Rice, will begin at 6 p.m. July 12 at the Kahle Park Community Center, 236 Kingsbury Grade. The meeting room will be posted at the door.

Refreshments will be served at 7 p.m. and the general meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. A special program featuring Maribeth Gustafson, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit forest supervisor, and Linda Massey, public affairs officer, is scheduled from 8 to 8:45 p.m. The program will provide general information on the management of Forest Service lands. They also will discuss the use of the largest U.S. Forest Service purchase in history, the Dreyfus Estate, which was purchased for $38 million.
