Douglas County schools at Lake Tahoe on delay; LTUSD opening as scheduled

Douglas County School District’s two schools at the lake will open on a 90-minute delayed start, while Lake Tahoe Unified School District will open as scheduled.

The delayed opening applies to Zephyr Cove Elementary and George Whittell High schools. It also applies to school transportation. Parents should expect buses to pick up students 90 minutes later than normal and at main stops only, per the school district. Students will return home at their regularly scheduled time.

Designated stops are:

The corner of Tina Court and Ski Court for students living in the Tramway and Kingsbury Village area:

WHS – Bus will arrive at 6:40 a.m. and depart at 7:05 a.m.
ZCES – Bus will arrive at 7:57 a.m. and depart at 8:20 a.m.

Glenbrook area will board at the entrance to Glenbrook:

WHS – Bus will arrive at 6:32 a.m.
ZCES – Bus will arrive at 7:36 a.m.

Parents are responsible for delivering students to the main bus stops in the morning and picking them up from the same stop in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Lake Tahoe Unified School District in California will open as scheduled today.
