Douglas Sheriff: Man shot to death, case being investigated as murder

A man was shot to death early this morning and Douglas County authorities are investigating it as murder.

The dead man was found inside a home at 2800 Wildhorse in the Johnson Lane area of the Carson Valley at around 3:20 this morning, according to Douglas County Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Jim Halsey in a press statement.

“Responding deputies arrived and found a deceased white male adult inside the residence. The decedent appears to be the victim of a homicide by gunshot,” the statement said.



The victim’s identification is being withheld at this time.

“The investigation is active and on-going. We cannot disclose any additional information at this time,” Halsey said.
