Drama team presents ‘Charley’s Aunt’
April 2, 2009
The South Tahoe High School drama department will present “Charley’s Aunt.” The play follows two young men, Jack and Charley, who are desperate to declare their love to their beaus, Amy and Kitty, before the girls must go out of the country for an extended period.
Jack and Charley arrange to invite the girls to lunch, planning for Charley’s aunt (who is due from Brazil on the same day) to chaperone.
But their plans go awry when Charley’s aunt telegrams to say that she will be unable to come.
Jack and Charley hastily convince their friend, Lord Fancort Babberley, to pretend to be the aunt. This works well for a while, but then Charley’s real aunt arrives and the confusion escalates.
The cast includes David Butler, Chris Yarrow, Conor Sass, Jon Agnew, Brian Henderson, Derek Yarafolus, Chesi Cooley, Whitney Elder, Casey Iacobellis and Leah Foxworthy. It’s directed by Liz Niven, and assisted by Adam Kern and Chelsea Wightman.
The play opened April 2 and runs through April 5. Show times are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
