Dress up and celebrate Jewish holiday of Purim

Provided to the Tribune

Anyone interested is welcome to attend a fun celebration of the Jewish holiday of Purim with costumes, dramatic readings, music, song, food and drink at 7 p.m. Monday at Temple Bat Yam, 3260 Pioneer Trail.

There will be a creative presentation of the traditional story from the Book of Esther, with individual members of the community singing it to an unusual melody or reading it as any kind of character.

Costumes are suggested, but optional. Refreshments, including Hamentaschen, a special filled pastry for Purim, will be available throughout the evening.

For more information call Rabbi Jonathan Freirich at (775) 901-2543.
