SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — South Lake Tahoe coffee shop Black Cabin Coffee officially closed their doors on Friday, Sept. 30, and after a week-long conversion, has reopened under the North Lake Tahoe coffee empire, Drink Coffee Do Stuff.

“Following five years of roasting and caffeinating South Lake Tahoe, we couldn’t be prouder that Black Cabin Coffee is passing the torch to Drink Coffee Do Stuff,” Black Cabin Coffee’s social media post read. “Black Cabin [Coffee] will be officially closing its doors, and following a brief transition period, we’ll be reopening the takeout window as Drink Coffee Do Stuff.”

The Pioneer Trail coffee shop reopened as Drink Coffee Do Stuff on Wednesday, Oct. 5, as a takeout window service while the inside of the shop is actively being revamped for an official grand opening later this fall.

Although Black Cabin Coffee has shut their doors, the transition to new ownership is a happy, positive change. Black Cabin’s owner, Nicki Williams, boasted in a social media post her gratitude to the South Lake Tahoe community and is excited to “pass the torch” to the Drink Coffee Do Stuff team.

“Thank you,” the social media post read. “To the coffee connoisseurs, the early birds, the South Lake Tahoe community, the visitors to our little slice of paradise and all who have supported Black Cabin Coffee over the past five years. So much gratitude and appreciation for allowing me to share this passion with the community.”

Drink Coffee Do Stuff is a well-established coffee shop staple that has been serving North Lake Tahoe for almost a decade when owner Nick Visconti thought to create a business that was his life passion: to drink coffee and do stuff.

“Drink Coffee Do Stuff is a specialty coffee company built with the belief that extraordinary coffee leads to an extraordinary life,” the coffee roaster’s website says. “The hallmark of our coffee roasting style is maximizing sweetness and revealing origin characteristic. High altitude roasting at 6,000 feet in Lake Tahoe provides us unique advantages to achieve this consistently making all our coffees more sweet, less bitter.”

Since the initial opening of their Truckee Roastery, the Drink Coffee Do Stuff brand has expanded into now five locations: Incline Village, Downtown Truckee, Raley’s O-N-E Market Truckee Café, Raley’s O-N-E Market Reno Café, and now South Lake Tahoe.

The coffee shop is excited to bring their coffee shop to the South Lake Tahoe community and continue to grow throughout the Lake Tahoe Basin.

“Huge thank you for all the support and stoke,” Drink Coffee Do Stuff’s social media post read. “It’s been one hell of a journey and we are pumped to caffeinate South Lake Tahoe are our own brick and mortar shop!”
