Drug screening to be discussed at Barton seminar

Barton HealthCare System Occupational Health Services will present a seminar titled ” Drug Screening in the Workplace & Work Comp Injuries” Aug. 16.

The seminar will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Harrah’s Tahoe Special Events Center. The cost of $50 per person includes a continental breakfast buffet. Businesses sending more than one representative will receive a special rate. To register and for more information call (530) 542-3000, Ext. 2021.

People should attend this seminar if they are:



– An employer, risk manager or personnel director.

– Not aware of the big changes in DOT regulations for drug testing.



– Interested in how the employees or the perspective employees try to cheat drug tests.

– Interested in knee injuries and indications for surgery.

– Not sure how to deal with back injuries.

– Wanting to lower their costs of running their business and increasing productivity.

– Unsure of the legal responsibilities of the employer when an employee is injured on the job.

– An employee who needs information on establishing a workplace policy for occupational injury reporting.
