Duane Ervin Skaggs died unexpectedly July 5, 2005, at Sacramento, Calif. He was 50.

Born June 29, 1955, at Lebanon, Mo., Duane was a 12-year resident of South Lake Tahoe and had been employed as a chef at several restaurants at the South Shore. He loved the outdoors and was a hunter. He enjoyed working with his hands and created items with leather as well as wood. He also enjoyed riding his bicycle and he loved to cook. Duane lived life to the fullest. He had a big, loving heart and always cared about other people. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and all who love him.

He is survived by his mother, Dortha Boone of South Lake Tahoe; daughter, Amy Skaggs of Stockton, Calif.; son, Duane Skaggs Jr. of Stockton; sister, Eula Wyatt of South Lake Tahoe; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Cathee Skaggs of Rio Linda, Calif.; brother, Dale Wyatt Jr. of South Lake Tahoe; grandchildren, Duane Erwin Skaggs III, Trinity Skaggs and Andrew Skaggs; niece and nephews, Michelle of Carmichael, Calif., Steven of South Lake Tahoe and Chuck of Sacramento; several aunts and uncles; many friends; and his dog, Sparky. He was predeceased by his father, Glenn Ervin Skaggs and step-father, Dale E. Wyatt Sr.
