Duck races return to South Tahoe as part of ‘Day in Paradise’ event

South Lake Tahoe Optimist Club will host duck races as part of its Day in Paradise event in Meyers on Saturday, Aug. 27.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — After a two year hiatus, the South Tahoe Optimist Club Duck races return this year as part of the 18th “Day in Paradise” Saturday, Aug. 6, at Tahoe Paradise Park in Meyers.

The event with free admission runs from noon to 7 p.m. with duck races beginning at 1 p.m.

To participate in the races, one ticket costs $5 or six for $20. First place will receive $300 with second earning $200 and third getting $100.



Business ducks are available for a $100 donation.

The event will also feature free kid games, a car show, food trucks, live music, a beer garden and silent auction. 



The duck races is one of two major fundraisers for the club and helps support local schools and students.
