DUI checkpoint scheduled for Friday in El Dorado County

Tribune staff report

The California Highway Patrol, South Lake Tahoe Area, conduct a sobriety checkpoint in the “east area” of El Dorado County on Friday, Aug. 14, according to a press release issued this week.

“The checkpoint will be setting up at approximately 8:00 p.m. and will be operational at 9:00 p.m. The checkpoint will conclude at approximately 2:00 a.m. The sobriety checkpoint will be staffed by a team of CHP officers. Officers will be controlling traffic at the checkpoint to evaluate driver’s sobriety and hand out literature warning of the dangers of drinking and driving. Driver license checks will be conducted and appropriate enforcement action will be taken.”

If there is inclement weather, the checkpoint will be canceled for safety reasons and the units will be assigned to roving DUI patrol.
