Easter egg hunts for youngsters Friday and Saturday

Youngsters will have two chances to fill their baskets before Easter, beginning with an Easter egg hunter hosted by the Tahoe Douglas Firefighter’s Association at 11 a.m. Friday at Kahle Community Center, 236 Kingsbury Grade, Stateline.

The Easter Bunny will hide eggs at 11 a.m. Firefighters will be there with their equipment. For ages 6 and under. Free. Call (775) 586-7271.

On Saturday, the South Lake Tahoe Optimist Club will host a free Easter hunt at Lake Tahoe Community College, 1 College Drive. Events will begin at 10 a.m. with an Easter parade, Easter bonnet and Easter costume contests and pictures with the Easter Bunny. The egg hunt will begin at 11 a.m. with the sound of the fire engine’s claxon.

Close to 3,600 hundred eggs will be hidden by the Easter Bunny’s helpers. Sections will be marked off for age groups infant to 12 and for challenged children. Prize eggs will also be hidden in each section.
