EAT This Week: Elements Eatery’s Brekkie Burrito

To try and decide each week where and what to eat around the basin can be a challenge – there are so many amazing choices. In this feature, we’ll dive into dishes that will surely satisfy those hunger pangs and leave you wondering where to go next.

I have no idea who decided to take common breakfast items and roll them up into a portable and delicious burrito but thank you whoever you were. And thank you to Elements because their version of this popular offering is outstanding, and it just so happens to also be this week’s feature.

All wrapped up in a flour tortilla are breakfast tots, scrambled eggs, thick-cut bacon, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, and crema. If you’ve never been to Elements, nearly everything that can be made from scratch, is – and you can really taste the difference once you bite into this behemoth.

The freshness of the pico, guac and crema can be felt throughout. Each one finds its place in the burrito and leaps out at the perfect time, giving you a bite that explodes with flavor like a firework on the fourth of July. And when you get the salty and crunchy pop from the tots is when this dish really launches into orbit.

All this and I haven’t even mentioned the bacon yet – although we all know the star power it brings so I probably don’t need to spend much time on it. However, it’s not the only star. This is more of an ensemble cast of ingredients because each one brings a stellar performance giving you the best possible outcome when it comes to breakfast burritos.

Yes, this is a strong recommend to start your day. Put away the cereal and the overnight oats and say hello to your new favorite. I’m willing to bet you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.
