Eco-Symposium set for Friday at Squaw

Members of the community are invited to the upcoming Lake Tahoe Eco-Symposium, organized by Sierra Green Building Association.

The event is set for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the Squaw Creek Resort in Squaw Valley.

The mission of the event is to give community members knowledge and stimulate thought on the importance of investing in the environment, communities and business, creating jobs and a sustainable future for the Sierra Nevada Region. This day-long event will provide an opportunity to listen to many of the regional leaders as they look into the future of California and Nevada’s green economy.

David Gemme, vice president for SiGBA is the organizer and moderator for SiGBA’s Eco Symposium.

“We must work together collectively and broadly to bring about change,” Gemme said. “I’ve invited leaders from all disciplines to join forces in this global initiative. Now, we need the public to join in and make this a working session.”

SiGBA asks for a donation of $20 in advance and $30 at the door. SiGBA member pricing is $15 in advance and $25 at the door. To register visit http://sigba.org/archives/proto/eco
