EDITORIAL: What’s new with the Tribune

The Tahoe Daily Tribune has enhanced and altered quite a few items starting with today’s newspaper to make our print edition easier to navigate and give you, our readers, more content to peruse.

Here are some highlights in today’s edition:

• Our new cover design saves space and creates more room for stories and photos on the front page.

• We’ve changed our tagline to “Your news. Your Tahoe.” to reflect our focus on community news.

• Obituaries and life announcements will always appear after the opinion page in every edition.

• We’ve added “news of the weird” to the back page of the paper, a place for local and national quirky tidbits so you can end the paper with a giggle.

• The weather and calendar page will appear inside the paper, instead of the back page.

We are also rearranging some of our features to better align with our readership:

• Parent or teacher? On Wednesdays, read all about education and school happenings.

• Looking for pets? Get your furry friend fix with Wednesday’s pet photos and stories.

• Looking for your health features? Health and fitness articles will now appear on Wednesdays.

• Hungry? Food articles, including Callie’s Cabin, will appear on Fridays to capture our weekend audience.

• Wondering what to do? Find out about arts, culture and entertainment happenings in the Friday issue and the weekend edition on Saturday.

• Connect with local businesses: Information about local business happenings will appear in the weekend edition.

• Some things are not changing: The weekend edition is still home to real estate and home improvement news.

And finally, we say thanks. We appreciate you for understanding our paper’s need to be flexible and change – as we are always listening to your thoughts and trying to build a better product.쇓
