EDITOR’S NOTE: Losing a member of our family

Last week the Tahoe Daily Tribune and the South Tahoe community lost a valued family member – Tim Woods.

Many of our community members may remember seeing Tim at the front desk of the Tribune’s offices. He was also always helpful and kind to any customer who needed help. Tim didn’t call attention to himself, but he was always working behind the scenes to make someone else’s life a little bit easier.

Tim worked as the Tribune’s circulation coordinator for four years and during that time he diligently made sure that the South Shore received its newspapers. He really cared about his job and about this community.

He graduated South Tahoe High School in 1988 and then went on to graduate from California State University, Sacramento. He owned a business in the Sacramento area while he lived there for about 10 years.

About six years ago he returned to South Lake Tahoe and in August of 2006 he became the circulation coordinator at the Tribune. He had also spent some time as the front desk receptionist answering phone calls and assisting with walk-in customer needs.

According to his family he was happiest loving life with his friends and with his dog, Lucy. He enjoyed kayaking, going to the beach and walking Lucy.

His death was sudden and shocked us all at the Tribune. We will miss Tim’s gentle kindness and his helpfulness.
