Edward R. Edmonds

Ed Edmonds, 80, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, in Sun City, Ariz., where he has resided for the last 14 years.

He was born in Deer Trail, Colo., and moved to California with his family when a boy. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and Korea. When he returned home he became an optician. He worked for American Optical for many years then moved to South Lake Tahoe, Calif., in 1960 and opened a lab there where he worked for 36 years.

He was a three time Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge in South Lake Tahoe. He worked on many civic and charitable projects and was one of the original contributors of Barton Memorial Hospital before it was built.

His grandson Shawn M. Kronenberg precedes him in death. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita Edmonds; two daughters, Vicky Kronenberg and husband Bill of Sun City, and Pamela Wright and husband Ron of Hiawatha, Kan.; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
