PLACERVILLE, Calif. — A committee tasked with making recommendations on cannabis regulations for El Dorado County is slated to meet Monday, Aug. 12.

The agenda for the meeting will include tax rates, fees, pre-application and future meetings, according to a press release. The meeting is scheduled for 3:30-5:30 p.m. in county supervisors chambers at 330 Fair Lane in Placerville. It is open to the public.

El Dorado County supervisors created the ad hoc committee in November 2017 in order to explore options for handling commercial licenses and possible ballot measures related to taxing cannabis.

In November 2018, the county put forward five ballot questions related to indoor and outdoor commercial cannabis uses for adult recreational and medicinal use.

All five questions were overwhelmingly approved by voters. The ballot questions set a July 1 deadline for the county to make cannabis applications available to businesses. However, the questions included a provision allowing supervisors to extend the deadline if more time was needed.

In June, supervisors voted to extend the deadline to Sept. 30.
