El Dorado sample ballot pamphlets in the mail
South Lake Tahoe voters should begin to see the special district sample ballot pamphlet in their mailboxes in the coming days, the El Dorado County registrar’s office announced today. The sample ballots will be mailed out on Thursday.
The sample ballot pamphlet will provide voters with important information about items to be voted on this election. Your polling place location is listed on the back cover of your sample ballot pamphlet.
For voters who are not permanent absentee voters and voters that do not reside in a mail ballot precinct, the back cover of the sample ballot can be used as an absentee ballot application. Simply sign the form and tear on the perforated line and drop the application in the mail or bring it to the Recorder/Clerk office at 3368 Lake Tahoe Blvd., Suite 108 during normal working hours. Be advised this office is closed between the hours of noon and 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Absentee ballots will begin to be mailed on Oct. 9. A reminder, permanent absentee and mail ballot voters will not receive a sample ballot, they will receive a voter information pamphlet and their ballot to fill out and return. If you vote at a polling place you will receive a sample ballot and information pamphlet.
To ensure sufficient processing time, the last day by law the Election Department may mail voter-requested absentee ballots is Oct. 30. You may pick up an absentee ballot at the elections office Oct. 8 until Election Day, Nov. 6.
The election Department is located in the South Lake Tahoe area at the Recorder/Clerk’s office.
If you do not receive your sample ballot pamphlet or if you misplace it, contact the election’s department at (530) 621-7480.
