Engagement announced

Megan Merhaut and Dusty La Chapelle, both of South Lake Tahoe, have announced their engagement and are making plans to be married in the fall of 2003.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Gunter and Cindy Merhaut of South Lake Tahoe. A 1999 graduate of South Tahoe High School, she will graduate from Lake Tahoe Community College in 2003 and plans to transfer to California State University, Sacramento. She is employed at Freshies and is a student at LTCC.

The future bridegroom is the son of Gini and Greg Fletcher of South Lake Tahoe. He graduated from South Tahoe High School in 1998 and from the Butte Fire Academy in 2001. He is a firefighter with the California Department of Forestry and Fire.
