Enviro summit still on at Ponderosa
The Lake Tahoe Environmental Summit is still scheduled to be conducted at Ponderosa Ranch on Aug. 5 despite it recently being sold to a private citizen.
The ranch, made famous by the television show Bonanza, had been eyed for purchase for by a slew of public agencies. But Incline Village businessman David Duffield stepped in and presumably offered a better price for the property.
“As of now it’s still at the same location,” said Shannon Eagan, press assistant for Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., organizer of this year’s summit. “We don’t expect it to change.”
The 570-acre ranch is located off State Route 28 south of Incline Village. It is home to a theme park scheduled to close in September.
