Esther Crouse

At her request no services are planned for Esther Ross Crouse, who passed away of natural causes Sept. 2, 2006, at Barton Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.

Esther was born Feb. 1, 1910, in Modesto, Calif., and had been a resident of South Lake Tahoe since 1971. She had been a realtor in the San Francisco Bay Area, Pollock Pines and South Lake Tahoe. She was also a homemaker and was well known for her excellent pies. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and their friends and was known as the “grandma of the neighborhood.”

She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Britting of Placerville, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, James and Debbie Crouse of South Lake Tahoe; and grandsons, Kyler and Michael Crouse of South Lake Tahoe; as well as 10 other grandchildren and several great-grandchildren around the country.

She was predeceased by her husband, G. Milton Crouse; son, Robert Crouse; and daughter, Jacqueline Crouse.

It was her desire to not have services, but to be remembered by her life.
