Evacuation orders lifted

Staff Reports

All evacuation orders related to the Angora fire will be lifted at 8 a.m. and residents only will be allowed to return to the area of North Upper Truckee Road from Highway 50 to Sawmill Road, according to the City of South Lake Tahoe re-entry information hotline.

Residents are being asked to enter the neighborhood through Lake Tahoe Boulevard to reduce congestion.

Angora Ridge and Tahoe Mountain roads are still closed. Angora Ridge Road will remain closed so heavy equipment can work on the remains of the fire. The city is asking residents to be careful in the burn area. Closure of these roads will be re-evaluated at 6 p.m. Sunday.
