Event raises scholarship money

P.E.O. Chapter XJ of South Lake Tahoe, a philanthropic and educational organization, will conduct a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 26 at 2921 Freel Peak, U.S. Highway 50 and Al Tahoe Boulevard.

Proceeds will help fund scholarships for local women. P.E.O. supports many state scholarships as well as five international projects. The projects are Educational Loan Fund, Cottey Junior College in Nevada, Mo., International Peace Scholarship Fund, Program for Continuing Education and Scholar Awards.
