A strong high-pressure system is forecast to build over the area during the next few days, bringing sunny, mild afternoons with light winds.

High temperatures today and Friday will top out in the upper 50s to lower 60s around the basin.

Overnight low temperatures will dip into the 20s at lake level. These temperatures are a few degrees above the seasonal normal for daytime highs in early November and a little cooler than average for lows.

Developing inversions and calm winds will allow local areas of freezing fog to develop overnight, especially near Truckee.
