Kylee Weiss helped capture the National Collegiate Dance Team Championship in the Hip-Hop Division for four-year colleges.

Weiss is a South Tahoe High School graduate, coach of the STHS dance team, and a second-year member of the Sacramento State University Extreme Dance Team.

The Extreme Dance Team competed in Las Vegas on Feb. 6 and 7 at the Cashman Convention Center.

The team finished in first place in the qualifying round. In the final round on the second day, the Extreme Dance Team blew away the competition and won the National Championship for hip-hop.

The CSUS defeated two strong teams – Washington State and University of Kentucky.
