Fair invites South Shore to participate

Tribune

Tahoe residents may wish to take advantage of the arrangements that have been made for entering their work in the El Dorado County Fair this year. The fair is scheduled June 14 through 17 at Placerville, Calif.

Jody Gray, fair manager, said, “The El Dorado County Fair is the ‘home fair’ for the Tahoe Basin and it’s important to us that we make it as easy as possible for Tahoe residents to participate. We’ve made special arrangements for our staff to be on hand at the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library, 1000 Rufus Allen Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 14 to answer questions and assist with entry forms.”

With more than 700 classes to chose from, residents of the Tahoe Basin with skills ranging from quilt design, gardening and cooking, are urged to enter their work at the El Dorado County Fair. In addition to the staff visit on the 14th, forms may be mailed by the deadline on May 18, or submitted in person at the fair office in Placerville. Forms and guide books are available at the library and are posted on the Internet at http://www.eldoradocountyfair.org.

Even though entry forms are due by May 18, most actual exhibits are not due until closer to the fair. A complete schedule of due dates, judging and release dates is included in the Entry Guide. Best of Show winners in each category will be eligible to compete at the 2002 California State Fair. For more information call (530) 621-5860.
