Fake officer pulls over, attacks woman near Woodfords Junction
A woman who thought she was being pulled over by a law enforcement officer was attacked by a man on Highway 88 near Woodfords Junction on Monday night.
According to the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office, the woman said she saw a white truck parked near the junction. As she passed the truck westbound, it began to follow her into Woodfords Canyon.
She told deputies she saw a single red light shining from the truck and pulled over thinking it was an officer.
A man wearing dark clothing and a badge walked up to her vehicle and asked for her information before ordering her out of her vehicle.
As she exited the vehicle, the man grabbed her and threw her to the ground.
She managed to fend off the man, get back into her vehicle and escape.
The man was described as white with a stocky build, 40-50 years old, 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing about 225 pounds, with dark hair and a bushy mustache.
He may have sustained injuries in the fight.
The pickup was a white diesel with aftermarket custom rims.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office at 530-694-2231.
