Farmers Market starts twice a week Tuesday

The El Dorado County Certified Farmers Market will open for the season on Tuesday in South Lake Tahoe.

For the first time this year, the organization will offer two markets. The Tuesday market continues operations at the American Legion Hall through mid-October. Beginning July 2, a second market will open on Fridays at the Parks & Recreation Complex until Sept. 10.

Both markets are open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The farmers market brings fresh produce and other items to Tahoe from farms primarily on the east slope of the county. A certified farmers market ensures products come directly from the growers.

The Friday Douglas County Farmers Market at Kahle Park opens June 4.
