Fay Louise Gross

Fay Louise Gross was born in Berkeley, Calif., and died July 11, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Fay moved to Lake Tahoe in 1961, where she raised her two children and worked at Harvey’s Wagon Wheel during the exciting, old-school era of Tahoe gaming with Harvey running the show on his side of the street and Bill Harrah on the other. She met and married Gary Gross while working at Harvey’s and together they moved to Las Vegas in 1995, where they continued their careers in the gaming industry.

She is survived by her children, Susie Raby and Kevin Cruess; and her grandsons, Ian and Brian Cruess, all of South Lake Tahoe. Fay was preceded in death in 2003 by her loving husband of 30 years. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends in both Tahoe and Las Vegas.

A service will begin at 2 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Valhalla Estate in South Lake Tahoe.

Donations in memory of Fay may be made to the American Cancer Society’s Lake Tahoe Relay for Life in care of Susie Raby at 2190 Shasta Court, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. Fay’s children and both grandsons are participating.
