Finalists are chosen in Rotary car raffle

The names of 25 lucky finalists were drawn at random Wednesday from a rotating drum containing more than 1,200 entries in the Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe’s annual Great Car Sweepstakes. The annual car raffle provides funding for the club’s many community service projects. In keeping with tradition, the tickets were drawn by Honorary Rotarian the Rev. John Grace.

At the Rotary meeting of May 4 each of the 25 finalists will draw a key from a barrel, but only one key will open the door to the new Jeep Grand Cherokee. That lucky key holder will choose between the new Jeep and $25,000 in cash. Rotary congratulates the 25 lucky finalists.

They are Randy Butler, Resheue Smith, Nick Phillips/ Chris Cefalu, Don Solley, Steve and Joy Ellison, Tahoe Emergency Physicians, Gerald Gooch, Paul Bruso, Anthony Magstas, Linda Pullen, Francie Cole, Ray Karasis, Robert Cristando, Tim Holcomb, Jeff Tillman, Linda Muir, Jim Beattie, Carlo Colamonico, Ward Saxe, Paul Jensen, Billy and Karen Hayes, Ron Coomes, Teri Jinkens, Doug Rousse and Paula Lorenz.

The Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe thanks the hundreds of persons who supported the club’s student scholarship awards and many community service projects by purchasing tickets to the Great Car Sweepstakes. In 2004 more than $44,000 was returned to the community. The list of supported organizations and other club information can be obtained from the club’s Web site at
