Find out what is at your core
March 21, 2006
The Community Development Free Training Series is designed by a statewide workgroup especially for the community. The free trainings are offered through a cooperative agreement between the California State Department of Rehabilitation and the El Dorado County Mental Health Department in South Lake Tahoe.
Four trainings have been scheduled for this year. The next training offered is “Core Gifts.” The Core Gifts workshop is a strength-based approach to making personal changes from the positive inclinations or instincts inherent in each individual. Individuals attending will learn to find their own “Core Gift,” which is the passion that motivates and sustains individuals in their life or work. The presenter is Bruce Anderson, a partner in Community Activators, whose mission is to support groups that are working to increase the authority and voice of individuals who find themselves in the margins of community life. Free continuing education hours are offered for nurses, marriage and family therapists, and licensed clinical social workers. This training is open to everyone and will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 30 at the Embassy Suites Hotel at Stateline.
Information about Mental Health will also be available. For information on this or other trainings, or to register, call Sandra Branton, EdD, or Lisa Behrendt at Mental Health at (530) 573-3251 or Heather Fite at Department of Rehabilitation at (530) 541-3226.
