Fire burning near Carson River

The Record-Courier

A 200-acre fire is burning near Horseshoe Bend 10 miles south of Gardnerville in brush, grass and pinon.

While no structures are threatened, there is no estimate of control or containment. A helicopter, five hand crews and six engines are working on the fire, which is in a remote area. The fire started 12:47 p.m. Sunday.

Firefighters from the East Fork Fire & Paramedic District, Alpine County, the Nevada Division of Forestry and the U.S. Forest Service are fighting the blaze.
