Firefighters revive man following fight
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – South Lake Tahoe firefighters were able to revive a man who was found unconscious following an altercation at Mo’s Place this weekend.
About 12:30 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the bar for a report of a fight between a patron and the bar’s security staff, according to a Monday statement from the city.
“When officers arrived, they learned that the business owner had been punched and knocked unconscious by a patron who had been asked to leave the establishment due to unruly conduct,” according to the statement. “Officers found this patron lying unconscious on the floor, detained by security staff.”
The man lying on the ground had no pulse and was not breathing when police arrived. Police, then firefighters, provided emergency medical assistance to the man.
“By using CPR at the scene the man’s pulse was re-established, according to the statement. “Both the patron and the owner were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.”
Detectives are investigating the incident and are looking into whether the amount and type of force used by security staff on the man amounted to a crime, according to the statement.
