Former art league president receives lifetime membership

Provided to the Tribune

The Tahoe Art League recently awarded Loretta Bookhammer a lifetime membership. Bookhammer is the quintessential example of an organization’s ideal member.

She is ready to fill any need or accept any chairship or position with tenacity and commitment. She steadfastly puts her heart into anything that’s asked of her.

Bookhammer joined the Tahoe Art League more than 18 years ago. She has been president twice; vice president; is ending 11 consecutive years as outdoor show chair; and has taken care of refreshments at the meetings for four years, often bringing homemade treats. As outdoor show chair, she consistently dealt with the city and the promoter, handled the paperwork, organized tents and equipment, and took care of all the small and large problems that are involved.

Her pleasing personality and willingness to help have made her a friend to every member. The league considers her an asset and a contributor to the success of its programs that promote the availability of art and art education throughout the community.
