PARK CITY, Utah – Two-time U.S. Olympian Caroline Lalive is retiring, ending her comeback from various knee injuries.

The 30-year-old Lalive, who was born in Truckee, earned five World Cup podium finishes.

She was forced to skip the 2006 Torino Olympics when she was hurt during a World Cup training run less than a month before those games. Lalive also was injured during practice in October 2007, and she missed all of the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

The American returned to competition this year, but yet another knee injury sidelined her in February.
