Forum at elementary school

William Ferchland

Parents of students at Douglas County School District lake schools are invited to attend an informational meeting Thursday evening with speakers including Superintendent John Soderman.

Topics include how the district plans to cope with declining enrollment, the Kingsbury Middle School experience by retiring Principal Nancy Rollston and a presentation by Whittell High School students regarding their input and concerns.

“That’s going to be a real good forum for a lot of back-and-forth (discussion),” Soderman said.

The meeting is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the multi-purpose room at Zephyr Cove Elementary School. Volunteers from the high school’s Honor Society will read bedtime stories to small children in the library. Snacks will be provided and children can wear pajamas and bring a pillow and blanket.
