Forum to discuss ecological issues in the basin

Well over 100 researchers, residents and agency officials converged Friday at the Lake Tahoe Community College to discuss ecological issues in the basin.

Hosted by the California Tahoe Conservancy, the fifth annual Lake Tahoe Basin Ecological Forum brought in more people than any previous year.

“It looks like we almost have as many people as we’ve had the last four years altogether,” said Victor Insera, wildlife and stream restoration program assistant for the Conservancy.

Officials discussed issues such as prescribed burning, water quality, wildlife habitat and stream restoration.
