Forum will bring together business owners, officials

Small-business owners will have a chance to talk face-to-face with city, county, TRPA and forest service officials this week, during a town hall forum hosted by the Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce.

The forum will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, at the Lakefront Wedding Chapel, 3351 Lake Tahoe Blvd. The event is free to chamber members; $15 for non-members.

Officials will cover topics expected to include business taxes, permits, licenses and home-business operation. They’ll also take questions from the audience.

Panelists will include:

— Douglas County, Mike Brown, assistant county manager

— El Dorado County, Sylvia Earl, assistant tax collector

— City of South Lake Tahoe, Teri Jamin, community development director

— City of South Lake Tahoe, Camden Collins, economic development coordinator

— Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, Jeff Cowen, community liaison

— Forest Service, John Maher, special uses program manager

— Small Business Development Center, Kathy Halbadier

— Chamber of Commerce representatives
