Police continued searching Sunday for four men who allegedly attacked two others as they were on their way to work at about 5:30 a.m. Friday.

The two victims, ages 18 and 21, were walking on Washington Avenue between Tahoe Keys Boulevard and Council Rock Avenue on their way to catch a bus when they heard people running toward them from behind, police said.

One victim was struck in the back of the head with an unidentified object, according to South Lake Tahoe police Sgt. Brian Williams. One of the attackers allegedly grabbed the victim’s backpack and fled with a second assailant on Tahoe Keys Boulevard toward Highway 50.

The second victim was punched in the face and beaten by two assailants until he fell to the ground, Williams said. Although the attackers allegedly demanded the victim’s money, they fled without taking anything from him.

Both victims declined medical attention.

The victims described their attackers as:

— A man about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, jeans and black-and-white shoes.

— A man about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a shaved head and wearing a bright-colored sweatshirt.

— A man with a large build.

— No description was available for the fourth assailant.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call South Lake Tahoe police at (530) 542-6100, and reference case No. 0803-1508.
