Four Pack football games to be televised by ESPN

RENO ” Nevada’s football team will play four games on ESPN this fall, three of them on Friday night and one on a Sunday.
The Western Athletic Conference released a list Wednesday of 11 WAC games that will appear on either ESPN or ESPN2 during the upcoming season. None is on a Saturday.
Nevada’s Sunday game is on Nov. 8 at San Jose State with kickoff set for 5:15 p.m on ESPN.
The televised Friday contests include the Wolf Pack’s home game against Missouri on Sept. 25, at 6 p.m. on ESPN, which also will carry Nevada’s home game against Louisiana Tech at 6 p.m. on Oct. 9.
ESPN2 will carry Nevada’s game at Boise State on Nov. 27, but that kickoff has not yet been set.
“The last five years in the WAC have featured two BCS games, 18 other bowl appearances and four teams that posted undefeated regular seasons,” WAC Commissioner Karl Benson said Wednesday.

“We are expecting another exciting season in 2009 and are pleased to have ESPN as our television partner. The schedule that we have put together offers the nation several chances to see some of the most exciting football in the country,” he said.
In addition, the Wolf Pack’s season opener at Notre Dame on Sept. 5 is scheduled to be carried by NBC. Their other non-conference games are at Colorado State on Sept. 19 and at home against UNLV on Oct. 3.
