Framework meeting today

Andy Bourelle

Lake Tahoe residents who want to know more about the Sierra Nevada Framework are encouraged to attend a public meeting today at Valhalla.

From 1 to 3 p.m., the team putting together the environmental documentation for the framework will be discussing the project and answering questions.

The Sierra Nevada Framework is a comprehensive plan being put together that will summarize the U.S. Forest Service’s future management of the Sierra Nevada. It is being created for all 11 of the National Forests in the Sierra, of which the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit is considered one.

A draft environmental impact statement for the framework is expected to be released soon, and copies of proposed alternatives are already available from the Forest Service.
