Free bike racks available for local businesses

Provided to the TribuneThe city of South Lake Tahoe and the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition is offering free bicycle racks for businesses within the city limits of South Lake Tahoe.

Free bicycle racks are now available for businesses located within the city limits of South Lake Tahoe that have a high-use location, a need for bicycle storage and are committed to being a bicycle-friendly business.

The racks are made possible by a grant from the city of South Lake Tahoe in an effort to encourage more bicycle use among residents and visitors.

In exchange for the rack, a business owner agrees to the terms and conditions for installation, maintenance and promoting bicycle use among employees and customers.

Interested businesses may request a bike rack application by contacting Ty Polastri, president, Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition at biketahoe@aol.com or 775-586-9566.

This is a community collaboration between the city of South Lake Tahoe and the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition.
